The Mines Afire Prediction

For this week we are beginning our study on the Brunner Mine Disaster.  As part of this we are going to be reading the novel, The Mines Afire.  Next Monday we are going to the Brunner Mine Site for a school trip so we are preparing for it. I like this topic we are working on.

What's in the News this Week?

What sort of animal was involved in a mass stranding in the Marlborough Sounds last week? 

In the news this week there was some dolphins stranded on an island in the Marlborough Sounds last week.

Thirteen common dolphins were found dead near the entrance to Troy Channel in the Marlborough Sounds last week. Scientists don't know why they did it because they did not seem sick.

My opinion is that it is not good and the dolphins don't deserve that to happen to them.  I wonder why they did it?

What's Been on the News this Week?

The Auckland city is deciding about banning these scooters from the city forever today. They have already banned them for a week because the brakes are locking on and causing serious injuries to people.  These scooters are called lime scooters.  The scooters could break apart while you are using them.

I think that it is a good idea to ban them if it is doing what they say.  What do you think?

2019 profile

My name is Luke and I go to Grey Main School  I live with my my Mum Megan and her Boyfriend Matt,me, my older sister Breigh and my younger brother Brad.

I have a dog at my house called Jade.  I also have 6 pig dogs at my Dad’s house that we take hunting with us.  

My favorite topic in school is maths. Even though I'm not good at math I still like it. I also like writing but I only like writing about my own things. I think I am alright at reading but I am challenging myself to read more this year.  My goal this year is to get good at my division.

I am looking forward to doing lots of fitness this year with my class. In the weekends I like to go hunting and fishing and ride my dirt bike.

I want to shoot a chamie hunting this year because I have crossed off a deer. People who inspire me are my teacher Miss P and my Mum. I want to post some of my best work on my blog this year so when it is completed up to a high standard people around the world will read and comment on it.   

What has Been in the News this Week...

The new Zealand police are spending  $20.7 million on ....?  

Body armour!

They are saying that is is more comfortable and lighter then the one they are using now.

Fact 1: It will be delivered to all Police officers in New Zealand over the next three years. 

Fact 2: It is designed to stop most rifle rounds.

My opinion is that they should get it as they need it for their job but not spend as much money on it.

 Canada I chose Canada because i thought it would be a very nice chill calm place to stay and have a holiday 

• Canada is the most educated country in the world with half of the population having a college degree.
•    Canada has the most lakes then the rest of the world  combined.
• Large parts of Canada have less gravity then the rest of the earth. the phenomenon  was discovered in the 1960's
