Tessellations

This week in math we got a choice of what we wanted to do.  We were finishing off our geometry unit with it a mathematical art week. I chose to do tessellation.
First we had to investigate our chosen topic and create a DLO about it.  Here is mine:



Then we got to create our art. I made a tile using google drawings and printed it out.  Then I glued it onto card and cut it out to make my stencil. Finally I very carefully traced it to make my tessellation and coloured it with pastel.  Here is my finished art.

             

I really enjoyed this week's maths as it was something different and we got to choose our own topic.

hello today I have my math for this week this was fun and easy I liked this so I wont to do this again the funnest part was the video this took about two day to coplet hope you like my math for this week.

 This is math buddy math on line. This is very good site to help your learning it helps mine. On most of these I got them right.I like this site because it tells you your score and how good you have done your teacher sets you the tasks and you do them.If you don't do  all the tasks its say how much you have to do and they stay there in till you do them. This week we whore doing place value.I think i need to work on my ascending order because i got that wrong. If you don't do this site for activities then you can ask your teacher.

Numeracy Term 1 Week 9 Reflection

Hello. This week I have done this expanding number activity.  We were learning about the place value of digits in 5 digit numbers. It was fun, easy and I want to do it again sometime in the year. I enjoyed this activity, maybe you could ask your teacher for you to do this.  Now I am going to be learning about how to add bigger numbers using this place value knowledge to help me.

For this week I have worked on thousands, hundreds, ten, and ones.  I think this activity was fun and easy. It took me five to ten minutes to complete this activity. I would like to do this activity again some time but with harder numbers up to a million.

This is my numeracy DLO for this week. The activity was very easy to complete and I very much liked this activity. The hardest part was to fit all the money in to the boxes.

Here is a photo of my word work for this week. I used my spelling list to get these words. Next week I will will challenge myself with a bit harder words. The rainbow words activity was fun because I got to make it bright.

Term 1 Week 2 reflections

This term me and my buddy have been working on bar graphs and  we did a graph about favourite games in Mamaku. In literacy we have been focusing on a book called Holes. We had to draw what Stanley thought Lake Greenlake would look like and then what it was like when he got there.
